we arent going to do wat ssa did and jack the price up if you pay day of right? always thought that was bull especially seeing the last one they left the 125 price till day before and day of jacked it up to 160! Why do you think that was done? (and most track day providers do). The lower initial price encourage people to sign up early, thus securing the deposit amount needed to hold the track day. If the price is the same and weather is uncertain (which always is) people will wait until the last moment and choose to participate then. If, hypothetically, the weather forecast is for rain on the 7 and 8, much less riders will go. (and perhaps someone will have to come up with the rest of the rental fee). At the last track day, SSA had somewhat less pre-registered attendees, Jerome kept the price at the lower level to entice more riders to join. Justino, I'd think you would be all over this, explaining in somewhat condescending terms how this all works to one of your younglins ;D Sorry to tell you this but you are mistaken. The three biggest providers on the west coast (Keigwins, Z2, and PTT) do not raise their price at the last minute. PTT only does when they offer their 99 dollar a day rate. The reasoning is because the don't make any money at 99 dollars a day. This is just to encourage enough sign ups so that they don't lose any money. Some of these providers do specific trackdays just for their customers. They go in expecting to break even or make just a little bit. Keigwins at Miller is a good example of this. With track rental costs Lance doesn't make much money to go out to Utah. He does it for us. This also stands with every Buttonwillow day after March. Any days before March sell out because of AFM practice but afterwards it is nearly impossible to get people down to Buttonwillow.

I am pretty sure the best thing we can do is try and get some swamp coolers for that track control building. If I had one I would rip it out of the window and bring it. I have bean in the Hospital many times for dehydration and heatstorke when I used to bicycle race and bonking like that comes on without warning and can perminatly damage your liver and kidneys. There is a reason Terry at RFRT is so passionate when he talks about it at the morning meetings cause it SUCKSSSSOOOOOOO BAD!!! The heat in the padock / track could potentially be lethal in many ways. PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY! If people come up and then have a stuggle with hydration or heat related issuse. They will NOT came back. Other thought: -enough E-Z-ups to shade the hot pit. I'm picturing like 4 long or into a square and secured so the wind will not thrash them. -Lawn sprinkers to walk by or a mister set up. -Handing out electrolite packets. -Also is it possible to provide free water? I know you peops are sick of me writing so much on all the threds but this could make or break the 7-8th for the SBK. The people that will decide not to go will make that decision (if they have not already said "no" to coming) because they know it will be EPPHHING hot out there.

There is free water at every track day. If you win you could spray champain all over. I remember a water hose.

We will have mist lines set up and we are already talking to the track about their swamp cooler in the hut. I know its there but might need to be gone through. Safety is a major concern for us. We will offer water and hopefully be able to get Gatorade or such for people.

We should have a limited amount of water on hand. Riders need to be aware they need to bring their own as well. All the "free" water and Gatorade cuts into has to be paid for somehow. The misters are a great idea and can really reduce the effects of heat exhaustion setting in. If we could get an electrical hookup I am willing to put our toy hauler out there with the AC for folks to sit in and cool off. My generator wont run my AC unit it needs a 3000watt+ to run.

These two DO raise their price, a week earlier or the day of whatever the reason (I think the weather debacle is as good as reason as any). Miller with Apex was $ $ 199 and $ 229 at the gates, I know 'cause I was there....I am not the only one mistaken I guess. pacifictracktime.com/ti/ptt/index.htmlwww.apextrackdays.com/schedule/index.php?id=79

Sounds like TG+Oneup are both are saying the same thing.
"The three biggest providers on the west coast (Keigwins, Z2, and PTT) do not raise their price at the last minute. PTT only does when they offer their 99 dollar a day rate. "
I checked with my east coast provider. Same price (even the morning of) They only charge a late registration fee for the schools, not the Trackday. They have to staff differently for schools, so that is why they want to know early.
This is a general thread about the day. the board and trackday committee are responsible for details of how the day will operate.[/size]

Greg was talking about Kegwins and Z2 and already said PTT raise their prises ONLY on the $99 days. So in this case I guess TG is wrong
