at altitude I would say closer to 120. Wiles SV (2nd gen) hit 112 indicated on the front straight of RFR. I was behind him hitting the rev limiter on my 1st gen. When I am behind my wifes 650r her speedo says 120 in the same situation. Coming back from Hawthorne this summer her speedo indicated 125 at her top end. So toss a coin and make a guess

This is relevent to my interests.
At Reno altitude I think it's more like 125-8ish. Faired or naked and rider weight also play a role. Search SVRider.com and you are sure to find scores of ill-informed people arguing about it.

One trip down the straight I saw 120 indicated last weekend.

we talked about speed into turn 1. figured that speed was BEFORE you started as looking at the speedo IN IT would be a bad thing

Oh yeah, I remember that.
I usually take a quick glance at the speedo just before I come out of the tuck and let off for turn one. That's the indicted top speed I'm refering to here.
Also, Myron, why do you ask?
Edit: yes, I come out of the tuck and slow down for turn one 'cause I'm a facking poosey.

True, but he specified stock. I missed the "stock" part and read the "production" part I have 46, 47 and 48 tooth rear sprockets for my "production" SV ;D
