well my bike is going in for its second stator or rectifier the first time it went in was the stator (service bullitin) now my bike isnt charging again aarrrggg! im glad i got the extended warranty on my bike - i will be taking it to big valley today hahaha as they say in Monster Garage - FREEBEE

Is your bike stock? Have you put anything on it that ties to the electrical system. Stators will generally only go out if there is another electrical problem with the bike. The most common is when someone adds something like a power commander or extra lights and wiring gets messed up.

we talked about it last night, and with the stator and battery fry, the rectifier sounds like a good choice to check next. There was a discussion on BARF about a particular bike model that has crappy rectifiers...I just don't remember which mfr now  |

oneup my bike up grades are after market turn signals tail eliminator KnN filters slip on jardine everything else is stock
dale i will find out when they fix it (warranty) if its the same thing then i will definately go after market nxt time or before it goes out again

took the bike in to BVH this afternoon went up 6-mile then down geiger with the bike in the back of the truck thats the slowest trip that bike has ever done that lol anyways while i was in the service dept they said they were to get right on it they are MAJOR slow with only a couple of bikes in front of mine and no appts for tommarow i took a walk to the sales floor and not a soul pretty grimm if you ask me

There was a discussion on BARF about a particular bike model that has crappy rectifiers...I just don't remember which mfr now Honda CBR F2's had notoriously bad rectifiers, they overheated like a bizznitch. Placement on the bike didn't help. They were mounted on the subframe, kinda just under your a55, with no airflow. Aftermarket ones had more fins for better cooling, and I even saw plans on the internet to mount CPU fans on them. Crazy. In case you haven't guessed by now, I owned an F2 way back when. Best bike ever (not really), but man that thing was totally flickable. Sorry for the thread-jack. |

its all good gianni its always nice to hear bout probs that the shops dont tell you about cuz they want the biz i will post what is was after i get it back from BVH (warranty) free!

well got the bike back today and the stator went again this is the third one in the bike if it goes again im not going stock
BVH did an excelent job on turn around but got a "D" on end of job presentation oil all over the fairings hoses not put back in place greasy finger prints all over the bike granted it wasnt clean when i brought it to them but i didnt expect it even dirtier than when i brought owell
the mech says its puting out 14.2 v hope it lasts

i am a year left on the extended waranty when that goes i will buy a back up maybe they got it right this time there was a recall in 07' on that part so maybe i got a second bad one
