Obviously not my bike. Just thought it was a great deal for an 08 GSXR with ohlins suspension ($4500. Bike in Oceanside). Looks like a race bike set up. forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=266079

Nice. Guess that means if someone was interested they have a super good guy that could go take a look at it.
You gotta admit if it is as advertised it is a really good deal for $4500. If you part it out you'd make your money back x2 I think eventually.

As a part out bike I think it's good. As a track or race bike it would be on my avoid list. It isn't production legal and it has hybrid parts. That means either the frame or the subframe had to be altered. Most people that make those kind of hybrids have no clue what they are doing.
If someone is interested I will go take a look for them.

Right. I always forget the rules for stock racing. As a track bike it would have low longevity eh? due to the modifications to engine?

No, the motor mods it has won't affect the motor life. Port and polish is actually a really good way to bump hp without sacrificing life (as long as it's properly tuned). 112 hp really isn't much for that bike so it's mods are mellow. I'd be worried about what he did to make the subframe fit. I also wonder why he would do that? If it's a simple mod (like spacers) it may be a good deal. My big issue is that port and polishing isn't prod legal and neither is a different sub frame and bodywork.

So as a track only it'd be a good deal?
Guess if someone was interested they should ask those quesitons if they wanted to race. :-)

It would probably be a good track bike although I'd much rather have Eriks or Lisas bikes over that one. Theirs have nothing strange on them and I know they are both meticulously cared for.

Definitely agree theirs are well cared maintained. Similar prices tho and that bike has Ohlins suspension front and rear. You could take it off and sell it for $1000, maybe $1500 easy. I'm amazed this one didn't sell already. It was the other bike I was looking at before I got the one in TX. I offered him $4000 back before I got the one I did. He just lowered the price to $4500.

HUH thats my bike it is an 06 07 subframe? ?? I didn't do anything just drilled holes and put it on. It is super stock legal. What kind of power do you want to get out of a stock motor??? Every dyno is different. ONEUP you are bashing on something you have no clue about.

And one up I am in oceanside as well. Do you ever go to trackohaulics If so my bike is there right now. What doesn't make that bike superstock legal is the brembo master not the bodywork. 08 frame 08 swing arm and 06 / 07 subframe it was put togeather by aussie dave. Yeah he doesn't know anything about motorcycles your right.

Trackwagon: I don't see any bashing I see Oneup's criteria for his own choices, as well as his experience with "most people's" subframe mods being garbage. Australia is a nation inhabited by the descendents of criminals, but I'm sure Dave is exceptionally trustworthy ;D And the way I read it... The 112hp= 'mellow mods' comment was positive. He was saying that you've done nothing crazy that would abbreviate the life of the motor. Good luck with the sale, you're bike is snazzy Too bad the market is so soft,

No subframe mods Just different year subframes It is an 06/07 subframe on an 08 bike and the body work is 06/07 as well. I found a great deal on the bodywork and the subframe so why not. Sorry I got a little carried away. Now that I read it he wasn't bashing just pointing some things out. But it is a great bike.

I'm not bashing your bike. Just pointing a couple things out. Most people that race in Norther Nevada/Norther California race in the AFM. Your bike is not production legal for the AFM. It can't have a port and polished head, can't have a subframe from a different year, and can't run bodywork from a different year. You also can't have an aftermarket master cylinder. Everything you have should be easy to put back to stock if someone wanted to race it except the head.
I was commenting that the work you did to the motor and the power it is putting out is actually a good thing for a track bike. The motor life isn't sacrificed by the modifications you did to it.
I didn't say the guy didn't know anything about motorcycles. Aussie Dave is a name that doesn't mean anything to anyone in our area. If you said it was built by Zoran people in Reno would be all over it but it probably wouldn't mean much to you. I was commenting that the majority of people who put a different model part on their bike usually have no clue what they are doing. It's not always true, but usually is. May I ask why you put an 07 subframe on that bike? I don't understand what the benefits to that mod are.
