The Red Box near my house is usually empty. Blockbuster is hovering in a plasma-like state of matter .
Does anyone want to participate in a movie exchange?
We can go from Thursday to Thursday. We could make requests, or offer suggestions to others.

First up. I have a few that qualify as 'must see' movies. My avatar comes from a movie called "Dr. Strangelove. . . Or How I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Bomb" It's one of the best movies of all time. It's a comedy that stars Peter Sellers playing three different roles in the movie.
Would anyone like to borrow it?

Netflix doesn't make suggestions based on your personality.

Netflix doesn't make suggestions based on your personality. Not based on my personality, but based upon my rating of over 1000 previously viewed movies. They're serious, too. They spend millions developing ever improving algorithms to more accurately suggest movies to their customers.

Ted Kaczynski may have enjoyed the social isolation of netflix. The Netflix algorithm is focused on your ordering more movies. Pandora and Slacker do the same thing, I'm just trying to find a copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

speaking of The Movie Club and Netflix, I just got a Roku today so I don't feel so bad that Netflix is tacking on extra fees for streaming video that I had never used That said...this little gizmo ROCKS! One feature I found really fun was the "Drive Inn Classics" channel. Now I can sit up late at night watching old B and C (and D) movie classics like "Curse of the Swamp Creature", "King of the Zombies", "Invasion of the Bee Girls" and "Plan 9 from Outer Space"! I might have to do a movie night at my house for all those who like old classics such as these! LOL

The Netflix algorithm is focused on your ordering more movies. But, the fewer discs you receive the more profitable of a customer you are.

My netflix doesent tack on any fees. We pay 8.99 for 1 video and unlimmited streeming. We use them a lot.
