The Netflix algorithm is focused on your ordering more movies. But, the fewer discs you receive the more profitable of a customer you are. Yup, I know how it works. The more accurate it is at predicting the more loyal you are as a consumer, the quicker you pay additional fees for the higher tier membership, the more you champion the benefits of membership to your peers, the more customers they amass, and the more. . .I get the idea What I propose is an exchange between 'like' or 'similarly-minded' friends who have an emotional investment in the film they loan by virtue of ownership. I want to learn more about my friends based on what they're passionate about and what moves them. I'd then be able to talk about it, or engage the owner in a discussion of their interpretation or the films merits in general. It doesn't need to be an intellectual discourse of film theory, or anything even remotely academic. I have my own opinions on how the dry storage container was unlocked for Jack Torrance in 'The Shining,' I'd rather share this stuff with my pals. Basically, it's sharing something you already know you like with someone who hasn't experienced it yet, or is looking to appreciate it, again. By sharing, you get to reawaken the enjoyment of the movie through the eyes of someone else, appreciate your own movie in a contextually different dimension.

Done! Thursday, or shall we rendezvous at an earlier time. . . 2wcp, perhaps? Up to you. I was just up at 2wcp on Friday, but could always swing by there after work. If not, Thursday is good for me.

Thursday it is. . . Hey, have you ever seen another Sellers movie called "Being There" Super excellent, and different. Not silly, but very enjoyable. It's the kind of movie that changes they way you think for a few days after seeing it.

And I watched Fear/Loathing. That movie just loves to make you uncomfortable. excellent. My wife asked how it ended. I told her it didn't end until Hunter S Thompson committed suicide a couple years ago.
On to movie#2.

If you want to watch a movie that will make you uncomfortable, there are two I recently saw that left me freaked out for a bit. One is Ellen Page (like 14 in this movie) in "Hard Candy" and another that will have you freaked out for a long time is "Bug" with Ashley Judd and the guy who plays to creepy revenuer in "Boardwalk Empire". I think Ellen Page should have received some awards for her acting in "Hard Candy". Incredible that a 14 year old can be that creepy.
