Sam, This Is confusing. People please quit throwing out numbers. The TTP site may clear it up, go to "race entry". I think the open class needs to be cleared up. Last years open class need to re-cert. for open class?
I know TONY,CHAD,Me Have passed the NRS that TTP,afm, others accept and if we all want to run with the big boys(and girls)we can. Also we could run mult races.

The extra fifty dollars will only get you in the "Dash For the Cash''
I personally, would not enter a race with Eddie, Steve, Justin Mustalka, and an AMA guy. They are in a different league, altogether. Did you see Chad, Myron, and Peter? They all looked thoroughly exhausted. You'll ride in a heat race, before the main event. Those two races (and Saturday practice are included in your 265) You will be exhausted on the start line, I promise.
Also, I can provide you with the same experience by starting Eddie Steve and Ethan and you from the hot pit at a trackday. You can race against yourself as they get smaller and smaller. LOL- i'm right there with you, pal. Same thing happens to me!
Put the $50 towards the next race.

i thought you had to have an AFM license to race in the 600 (non-open street) class

The TTP race cert. is to beable to let you race open street for you new racers. You can only race open street with that(correct me if I am wrong). The 600, 750,1000, twins and the d for c you will need to pass a real nrs or have race licenens from a race organization(like afm) which is giving out after you pass a nrs. All those racers had to pass one at one time or another.

I think you're both right. That doesn't change my position on why I wouldn't ever do it, even if i could. I'll be at the kids table for a season (or more)

You are correct, TTP certs are only good for Open Street Class. You can not run in the licensed classes.. reason being because the experience level is more intense and second Open Street Bike class tech rules are different than the licensed classes. If you were to want to step up into that group you could, but two things have to happen...
1. You would have to follow tech rules of AFM such as case covers, aftermarket plastics, safety wire ect..
2. We are in the works on this, but we were going to make an Open Street rider with a TTP cert run the first season in that class only. After which we would consider putting them in the regular licensed classes. But this is still in the works.
So for the mean time for this season if all you have is a TTP cert your only class is Open Street. However we would consider putting an additional "Dash for Cash" race for open street class riders only if there is interest.
Something t think about...

Additionally, ARC Trackademics will be at all the Precision Trackdays events with group and private coaching as well as hosting TTP new racer certifation courses on the sundays.. SBK775 members get 15% off all ARC services (coupon code: SBK775). Check it out and we'll see you at the races! ARC Trackademics www.arc-trackademics.com-E ARC will be holding TTP race certification on select Sundays at the Precision Trackdays throughout the season. I believe it's just 65 dollars. Get certified a week or more before your first race so you can just show up to TTP with $200 bucks. It costs the same, but you break it up the payment and not have all the stress of taking the class 24hours before your first race. relax, practice, hang out.

If you are their to get TTP race certified, then yes. Arc is teaching the cert on behalf of TTP therefore when you go to sign up, you click the licensed tab for $200 dollars. As justino said it just breaks the classroom time up so all you have to do is race that weekend and it breaks the payment up. Arc will then give us the info on racers certified before race day and we will act accordingly.

There's not as much classroom as you think. In fact, much more of the day is spent on pavement. You'll start off in the classroom going over the important stuff. I believe the schedule has you on track before lunch to get relaxed and jitter free. After lunch you return to the track for sessions of lead follow with the coaches. You will have time to do some race practice, work on lines, and finally ride 1:1 with a coach for final evaluation. Oh, and did I mention 'race start' practice?

Hey guys,
I had a few questions in regards to clarity of any rule changes between novice and expert. TTP rules currently for 2011, Novice and Expert racers are in the same class. (Beginners/Open Street Class) is the only class that is STILL separated. TTP will remove riders from the grid whose lap times are higher than 115% of the pole position time for safety reasons. Typically we have not seen a large enough gap in times to begin separating riders from Novice to Expert. But as we evolve I am sure we will eventually adapt this rule into our regulations.
Hope this clears some stuff up.
