I am looking to get my gsxr-600 ready for track days. If anybody knows where i can get fairings and other ideas for converting my bike to a track bike, I would appreciate it. I have raced supermoto for about 6 years and raced a little bit of flat track. Also I live in cold springs and I am tired of riding by myself. Hit me up for riding.

You're in the right place. I tracked out my cbr with Armour Bodies bodywork. I think it has the easiest finish to prep. It's pretty much ready out of the box. The fit was excellent. It's the only fiberglass I have first hand experience with. Selling the OEM can really decrease the overall expense. Do you have a bike you're going to keep on the street?

Sounds good. There are a few of us up in that area. We post a dirt rides here once in awhile.
Factory bodyworks are cheap junk. This comes from what I have painted. Armour bodies are good, But their twice the price. If you want to convert the bike go ahead. If your only doing trackdays at a entrylevel class, leave the bike the way it is. Change it at neassary.

hi.
I agree with Myron for the most part. Unless your street plastics are in really good shape and you can sell them. Otherwise just run it like it is and wait until you crash and break stuff to start upgrading it.

Factory bodyworks are cheap junk. Guess that is why so many race teams and others use it. LOL I think they have made some pretty good improvements in the past few years. Jimmy Wood and Z2 use it. I have it on my bike and it definitely is not junk. That stuff on my old bike by Rockwall/Hutbudies/whatever it was was a bit lower quality. The stuff on my new bike seems much better and is the FBW. Just my 2 cents. For the price it seems pretty good. Armour Bodies is the goods but its an extra few hundy.

Ok josh, I am sure you preped and painted them both too within the last year. If you did you would totally agree with me. You can get them to look good, it will take 8-12 hours or more fiberglassing/bondo/ primering/sanding. Even then I masked off some design and the tape pulled up the factory fiberglass under all my work. I say buy them if you want to save money up front. I wonder how they hold up in a crash. The biggest thing I remember when I was painting them was the amount swearing I did.
Welcome to the site downtown34, Josh and I are good friends so I beat him up a little. WE also do bikenights and sunday rides too.
