Well finally decided to join & not continue to be a lurker...so here goes. Name is Suzanne been riding street for about 10yrs before that only motocross. 1st bike a Buell Blast but not for long, then to a Ninja for about 2 yrs, then to a Honda VTR1000...Superhawk. My first feel of a twin for about 5 yrs, then to my baby...08 Ducati 1098s, the ultimate twin in my opinion. Been on this since 7/07 & love it every time I ride it.
Signed up for my 1st track day ever with Zoom Zoom on Easter weekend. So I am really excited about this. Looking to start doing more track days when possible. Any words of advice are welcomed.
Hope the weather starts to break so we can all get to riding!!!

Hi Suzanne! Glad to finally see you here. Being on the track are some of the best days of my life, bit words of advice. . . hmm. One day or two with Z2? Are you riding to the track, or using a trailer? Are you going with friends, or solo? I have ridden to the events, but have a much better time I use a trailer, or pickup. Having a friend to go with (or several) makes it a really good time. Don't feel weird talking to the other C-group riders, as they're just as nervous! Smile and make friends with the people in your area. Ask all questions you want. I find that people are very willing to share their wisdom, shade, water, tips, etc. A good nights sleep is about the best preparation you could do. Did I mention make sure to have FUN?

"08 Ducati 1098s" Drool... Welcome to the club. Few quick bits of advice for the track: When the trackday gets closer, post up on the board somewhere and there's probably at least one or two people from here going. They can be a friendly face to pit with or possibly even haul the bike and give you a ride if you don't already have a way to get everything out there. (don't ride out if you don't have to) Also- If you plan on doing a few trackdays, get a track bike. In the beginning we all crash a bit (pushing the limit) and I personally will shed a tear if that bike goes down. Once the weather warms up we will also be doing Sunday rides and you are more than welcome to join us on those. They are always lots of fun with all levels of riders. If you need any help or have any questions, just ask.

Welcome aboard Suzanne!
My wife really enjoyed her first track day with ZoomZoom. They have several women instructors, one of which is a member here...Lisa. She is AWESOME! Introduce yourself to her if she is there.
Love the bike. Hope to see you sometime at a trackday or about town. My wife currently rides a Ninja 650r (street and track) and does the occasional MX too.

Hi Suzanne! Glad to finally see you here. Being on the track are some of the best days of my life, bit words of advice. . . hmm. One day or two with Z2? Only 1 day/Sat, figured I would need Sunday to recover! Are you riding to the track, or using a trailer? Getting a hitch put on the car & will be trailering 1 way or another Are you going with friends, or solo? Hopefully someone I know will be there, otherwise family is going with me.
A good nights sleep is about the best preparation you could do. I couldn't sleep the night I booked it...night before FORGET IT

One day or two with Z2? Only 1 day/Sat, figured I would need Sunday to recover! One day is plenty between the lack of sleep (see below) and the physical and emotional fatigue. I strongly recommend earplugs because the engine/wing noise can also be very draining Are you riding to the track, or using a trailer? Getting a hitch put on the car & will be trailering 1 way or another Excellent plan. Get up in the morning and take a leisurely drive out in a warm vehicle. Are you going with friends, or solo? Hopefully someone I know will be there, otherwise family is going with me. I know some from here are planning on going. We'll keep you updated and make some room for you. Track veterans have a calming effect on newer riders.
A good nights sleep is about the best preparation you could do. I couldn't sleep the night I booked it...night before FORGET IT It took me years before I could sleep before a track day. I used to only get a couple hours.
My hat's off to you, Suzanne. This post is a great way to minimize the jitters. The track is nothing more than a windy road, except everyone is going the same direction, there are no cars/trucks/semi's and someone will to let you know if there's danger around the next bend. It's true that some riders do not exceed 80 mph, so do not worry about being in over your head. I don't know how ham fisted you are, but I do know your bike is thirsty. A couple extra gallons of gas is a good idea.
Like Dale mentioned, Lisa is a Z2 instructor. I introduced you to her a few Thursday's ago when we tried sorting out Z2's coolant policy.

@ 1trackmind.....Monster would be way cool. Would like 1 of those to zip around on sometimes. Borrowing of the bike would be a sin....especially if it got hurt
