I'm not married to my bike. While I have ridden one person's bike twice in the past 4 years, I don't really enjoy it. My bike is nothing more than a device and if someone wants to borrow it, they can.
These 'devices' of ours balance on two wheels. A momentary loss of traction on either wheel frequently results in a crash. When parked a child can push a motorcycle over, unwittingly.
I wouldn't ride motorcycles without thinking this way.

@ 1trackmind.....Monster would be way cool. Would like 1 of those to zip around on sometimes. Borrowing of the bike would be a sin....especially if it got hurt We are a respectfull bunch.... Personally I would'nt dare to ask.... Humor is my coping skill for Ducati envy.... I regret having sold my Duc.

Ducs are hight matinence from what I heard my baby is low matinence I like it that way A Ducatista does thier own maintenance! It's part of the passion like lovin on it. The SS750 I used to own was valve check @ 7k mi. and the Desmo valves were 8 shims. It need shims after 21k. Ya its not a spring vave but it doesn't have 16 shims. However the V4 Desmo would be 32 shims.

I don't consider it high maintenance..600 miles, 3000 miles, 7500, miles & next maintenance is 15k. I usually get the oil changed every 3k or 1x per year & radiator fluid at the same time.
Not everyone has a Ducati & they definitely do not look like everything else out there. So with staying different, the extra work/$$ is worth it. If you ever rode a Ducati, you would never go back!!

I love my ducati and there is service but, it is not that bad I have had my valves checked twice and it is in spec. And Timing belts around twelve thousand most everything is normal maintenance that any bike should have.
Z2 was my first track day I rode out there by my self and had a great time and rode home. I am sure you will see someone you recognize. Being it is a Z2 event I am sure Lisa will be there. have a great track day
