A series of interesting questions, indeed. There is a lot to that track, and it will take the better part of a day to begin to 'get it' as the track is large with many parts What works for me is to learn the track in sections. My breakdown will be different from yours and, that's ok. There are no sections you need to 'watch out for' because you need to watch out 'everywhere' You should be going slow enough for a while that nothing should surprise you. If you're being surprised, slow down. The number of 'Oh S#!+" moments should be zero. People don't learn well when they are scared. Keep it fun and you'll be so much more successful out there. Lots of people will have great suggestions. ZIP, Oneup, Scotinexcile, YardSale, to name a few.

For your first trackday just go out and have fun. RFR is a big track and will take most of the day to learn. Don't go out and ride over your head and don't worry about anything on the track. It's a very simple track in terms that there are almost no blind corners. Just remember to look where you want to go. It seems simple but it is one of the most common mistakes newer riders make. If you want help ask Andy Allen or Justin Mastalka. They are both great guys that are great instructors. Also remember that the most important thing is to have fun.

Yup, I'm just starting to do those again. do 20 in the morning and 20 in the evening. It's enough. Don't overdo it.

that is a great link. It's probably more useful on your second/third days at RFR and would be invaluable to a more experienced track rider/racer that already has a 'head' for learning tracks. I didn't know this post existed, Erik. Very cool
