All my other guns were lost in tragic boating accidents and I fear these will be next.

The big .45 was my Limited division competition gun for a couple years until I had a full custom gun built. It can't run with the big dogs in that division but it's fine for the Limited-10 division and IDPA. It's also fine for carry and I'll be packing it tonight at Boulevard Pizza. (No demos!)

The 9x21 was my Open division gun for a short while. It was too different from my custom Limited gun so I stopped shooting it years ago. It gives up only magazine capacity to the cutting edge guns. It's pretty good for Steel Challenge and the local man-on-man steel matches.

What is so special about the black talon ammo?

There was a lot of notoriety re Black Talon. They had been given a completely undeserved nickname by the media and the false reputation eventually forced the company to stop production of the Black Talon. They changed the color and the name to Silver Tip and then Golden Sabre.
The media called them teflon, armor piercing, 'Cop Killers.' The only thing made of teflon at Erik's is the frying pan.

If you want to shoot for penetration, a wall, a door, a bullet proof vest, it's stupid to choose any hollow point, which is what the Black Talon is. It's totally legal to own, and a collectors item.
