you really cannot ride it to the track... Commuting on race tires or racing on street tires are terrible options and what happens when you crash? I'm guessing he just wants to know if he can occasionally put his race bike on the street for the occasional ride. The long and short is you can but it's probably not worth the trouble.

YesI assume he meant the rules. I think a read of the rules would make it seem less silly...
Then again most race rules in terms of divisions as to what bike goes in what class have been a bit hard to follow (like what is production vs. supersport vs. superbike vs. limited production vs. heavy twins vs. clubman... so on an so forth.
Until you read and digest the divisions and the reasons for them it seem odd to the layman.

Come race with Dan Sewell, Dave Raff, Tommy Dorsey and then see if production class is "rather silly" ;D Silly as you go through all the work of specializing your bike so that it meets tech requirements but you can't really modify your engine and such. I'm more interested in occasionally taking my street bike into a race every so often. On a side not, I found a 2005 Z2 R6 that I'm going to look at tomorrow. Possibly to buy with a trailer.

David BJ's bike right? Saw it on 13x forums.
Brother you gotta decide what class you are going to race in. Big difference between 650 production (stock) and 600 superbike (built-up). Not sure what that z2 bike would qualify in but I'd suggest you do some research on class you want to race in before getting a bike.
Alan (scottinexile), greg (oneup) and others around here can probably give you some great advice.

Brother you gotta decide what class you are going to race in. Big difference between 650 production (stock) and 600 superbike (built-up). Yeah, two completely different bikes. ;D I know for sure that David's bike is legal for Clubman middleweight, Clubman Heavyweight, 600 Superbike, 750 Superbike, and Formula 1. I believe it might be legal for both 600 production and 750 production as well. In the 600 and 750 class you won't find too many differences between production and superbike classes. You can do a lot more to a superbike but most people in the AFM run their production bikes in the superbike class due to money. All of the top guys except 1 in AFM superbike 600 and 750 classes run production legal bikes. In fact almost all of the top riders in 750 superbike run production legal 600s. Now the 650 and 1000 classes are a completely different story. . . .

I've changed my mind yet again lol. I think I'm going to spend another season on my 650R perfecting my form and getting smooth. THEN I'll dump on some horsepower and tear it up lol. Any good places to buy road race fairings?

For the kawi 650 there are a few. I had a kawi 650 and used a set from Rockwall Performance.
Lot of info available at Blue Ridge Performance. Gary knows a lot about the kawi 650's. Check out his sight or hit me up with a PM & we can discuss info.
