Ok, fir the record T6 is motorcycle approved. JASO-MA is as motorcycle specific as it gets. Putting "motorcycle oil" on the label and charging more because it is passed through another layer of supplier doesn't make it better for my engine.
Politically I think the graph is off a bit. Needs about a dozen more questions. One cannot over generalize subjects. For example one can be against the draft and against gun control, against abortion and believe that the government has some responsibility to govern economic matters to protect the masses from greed and unscrupulous behavior. It is logical that as people move up in economic strata or education their politics change. It is also understandable that in as they age and/or get married, have kids, etc. The same happens there too.

As I have been saying all along, anything that meets your manufacturers spec should be fine. However, if you believe that Shell Rotella intended for diesel engines is going to be the same as Shell's Advance product intended for motorcycles, that is just not the case. Rotella is rated for use in motorcycles but that is not the intended use. I can run a marathon in tennis sneakers but they were not intended for it.
You're getting a different formulation for your money. Without doubt, the oil in the Rotella jug is not the same as the Advance jug so the question is what are you trading off to save a few bucks?
I will say this; I would run Rotella before running a re-label brand like maxxis or something. Running Rotella over the same company's motorcycle specific oil... Not a chance. I want the best product for my application even if it might be overkill.
Anyway, the old adage of leading a horse to water applies. Drink if you want to.

I started to respond but a comment about 2-strokes has taken off into something much larger. If the forums get a political forum I can address there or by PM. It is not hard to prove that while it is not wrong to feel inclined toward any end of the spectrum; you are encroaching upon the rights of others by voting that way.

Agreed. The club should consider a 'politics goes' area. Like on ADV rider's JoMomma section

motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Oils1.htmlmotorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Consumables.html#OilFiltersMy 'mentor' wrote this. He is a CalTech grad majoring in engineering. He wrote the best AI code (Brainmaker) ever written (recently sold to the NSA..don't ask why lol). He's spent his entire life on a motorcycle riding and modifying. He invested some money and time and pulled various oil filters apart and did a bunch of research on oil. I recommend referring any questions about oil you have to the above links.
